Level 8B. Age 12+
THIS LEVEL IS BASED MORE ON SKILL LEVEL RATHER THAN AGE.
Level 8B is designed for students with strong classical ballet and contemporary dance technique who are ready for serious, focused training and preparation for advanced pre-professional opportunities. Students in this level must be on pointe and able to work with high discipline, responsibility, and commitment.
The program is for dancers who want to continue progressing toward professional-level ballet education, Contemporary dance education, auditions, competitions, and future dance careers. Training focuses on refining technical precision, strength, artistic maturity, performance quality, versatility, and confidence in both classical ballet and contemporary dance.
Classes include classical ballet technique, pointe work, contemporary and modern dance, body conditioning, stretching, character dance, repertoire, and variation classes.
Students are placed in Level 8B after a successful placement meeting. The meeting may include an individual consultation and a recommended training plan for the school year. Flexible-program students may join after an evaluation class.
The full program is strongly recommended. A flexible four-day-per-week program may be available after evaluation. The minimum commitment is four days per week.
Many students at this level are numerous winners of international and U.S.-based competitions. Students entering this level must have prior experience.

Uniforms (leotard and skirt) are available from Ballet Institute.
