Level 3/4. Age 6-8

Level 3 is designed for children ages 6–8 and provides an important foundation for future classical ballet training. Students develop coordination, strength, flexibility, posture, focus, discipline, confidence, and musicality—skills that support ballet, dance, and many other athletic activities.

In these children’s ballet classes, students begin a more structured study of classical ballet technique. They learn ballet terminology, basic barre and center work, turns, jumps, and dance combinations. Students are required to attend two days per week (three for optimal progress) to support steady progress, build proper technique, and develop the strength and discipline needed for the next level of training. Their weekly schedule includes classical ballet technique, stretching and strengthening classes, classical and contemporary variations, and additional character dance variation work.

Level 3 prepares students for the next stage of the Classical Ballet Program and for more advanced ballet training. Students who show strong skills, commitment, and regular attendance may begin individual coaching and preparation for solo performances. At this level, BISD also begins identifying and forming its competition team.
