Intermediate II. Age 9-12
Pre-Professional level, required to take full program.
Students will be placed into this level upon completion of an evaluation class.
The program is designed for students who want to advance in ballet studies, perhaps to move towards being a professional dancer. Flexible program students are allowed to this group after evaluation meeting and meeting the minimum requirements. This program needs professional self-discipline. It includes Classical Ballet Technique, Body Conditioning and Stretching, Pointe Technique, Contemporary, Character Dance, Variation classes: 12 hours per week of classwork
Intermediate (equivalent to Grade 0-2 at A. Vaganova academy, Intermediate at RAD) is based on the basics of ballet practice, beginning demi-pointe exercise barre and center, accelerated pace work, and a greater quantity of movements including the basic steps of allegro (jumps) and Pointe technique.
Our Intermediate level counts numerous winners of international and U.S. based competitions. Students entering this level must have prior experience in Ballet training and will be placed into this class upon a successful placement meeting.
