International Ballet Summer Intensive, Masterclasses and Workshops

July 10 – 21, 2017
Pre-intermediate level. Ages  (7) 8 – 10 

Guest teacher Rasa Drazdauskaite (Europe).

This 5 days per week 5 hours every day summer intensive course is for our young ballet dancers ages between (7) 8 – 10.

The classes will run from 9:00am to 2:00pm daily (Mon-Fri), July 10 – 21. Extended care is available upon request.  The studio performance/recital will take place on July 21, 2017 and on August 13 at Balboa Park (optional).

Tuition: Full 2 weeks course $500; 1 week $300.
A $50 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration (it will be subtracted from the tuition).

Youth Ballet Program 4th position
This extended program (5 hours a day) provides knowledge and skills of ballet fundamentals. On these basics, the students will build technique, health and beauty.

Classes: Ballet technique, Body strengthening and stretching, Character dance, Rhythmic, Improvisation, Dance and a professional photo shoot. All students are accepted.
Age range: (7)8 – 10.
Time Commitment: one or two weeks (5 hours every day) and studio performance/recital at the end of the course.

Girls: Blue or Black color leotard. Students may wear any plain thin white socks or Ballet Pink Tights. Ballet Pink Ballet Slippers. Boys: White Short – Sleeved Leotard. Black Bike Shorts. White Ankle Socks – Student may wear any plain thin white socks. White Ballet Slipper.


July 10 – 21, 2017
Intermediate level. Ages 11 – 13

Classes run from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm, 5 hrs daily (Mon-Fri), July 10 – 21, 2017.
Studio performance/recital will take place on July 21 and August 13 at Balboa Park (optional).

Tuition: 1 week $350; 2 weeks $600.
A $50 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration.

Austeja PozaInternational Students from Europe will be participating in this course.

This expanded Profesional program (5 hours a day) provides knowledge and skills of ballet fundamentals. On these basics, the students will build technique, health, and beauty in the future. During the two weeks we will learn the correct posture (Barre, Center); the correct positions of the feet and arm; coordination of working and stable body parts. Epaulement, En Face meaning and how to use it correctly. Barre and Center ballet workout basics. Jumps: the right-off and different types of ballet jumps. Turns: half turn, full turn basics. Pointe: basics. Character dance: Spanish, Slavic, character arm positions, feet positions, jumps. The classical variation. The French type compulsory variation. The professional photo shoot will provide feedback as well as memories from the Summer Intensive!

Age range: 11 – 13. Participation in this course is by audition only. Please send a photograph (see example) and video (optional, please choose what you want to share, 5-7 minutes).

Your commitment: Five hours every day (Mon-Fri) and studio performance/recital at the end of the course. Students are welcome to arrive early, please inquire to arrange.

A photograph (see example) and or video (optional, free choice, 5-7 minutes) will help us to recommend the students to their appropriate group. July 31 – August 11, 2017
Advanced level. Ages 12+

Master class with Slawomir Woźniak (Master Ballet Academy, Arizona).

Classes run from 9:00 am – 3:00 pm daily,  6 hours (Mon-Fri).
Studio performance/recital will take place on August 11 and August 13 at Balboa Park (optional).

Tuition: 1 week $470; 2 weeks $800.
A $50 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of registration.

 

Advanced SummerA precise, rigorous and passionately creative training program with Egle Spokaite, designed for motivated dancers ages 12 – 18. Classes: Ballet technique, Body strengthening and stretching; Pointe technique, Character Dance, Contemporary, Variation, Ballet repertoire. Age Range: 12+. Please send a photograph of you in the first arabesque. Video: 7-15 min of student regular ballet (dance) routine practice or performance, variation (optional). At the beginning of the video please say your name and the age. Dancers must include their photo in the first arabesque (see example in audition requirement) with their registration form. Or audition during the Open House. Please write to info@balletinstitutesd.com or during the registration online to request the Audition. Audition is $20.

Time Commitment: two weeks (10 days, 6 hours every day) and the studio performance/recital at the end of the course. What to Bring to the class

Tank leotard – black. Short skirt (optional). Ballet belt tights – ballet pink. Ballet slippers, pointe shoes, character shoes – black character shoes.

Students of all levels are accepted and will be selected into an appropriate group. A photo (see example) and or video (optional, free choice, 5-7 minutes) will help us to recommend the group for the student.
