Advanced A Pre-Profesional Program ( Ages 11 – 13 )

Advanced A

Students will be placed into this class upon successful completion of a placement lesson.

Program is designed for students who want to learn ballet seriously, to move towards being a professional dancer. This program meets professional ballet artist’s preparation requirements. The program includes; Classical ballet technique, Body conditioning and stretching, Pointe technique, Contemporary, Character dance and variation classes consisting 9.5 hours per week. (Minimum of 8 hours per week).

Advanced A (Grade II-IV by A. Vaganova, Intermediate-Advanced by RAD) is based on the basics of ballet exercise, demi-pointe exercise barre and center, accelerated pace work, and a greater quantity of movements including the basic steps of allegro and Pointe technique. This level is vital in establishing a firm foundation on which future training will be built.

Students entering this level must have prior experience in Ballet training and will be placed into this class upon successful placement lesson.

Wednesday 4-4:30 pm Barre a Terre ( Studio A )+ 4:30-5:30 Ballet short class

Wednesday 5:30-7:00 pm variations ( Studio B )

Wednesday 7:00-8:o0 Intensive Stretching ( Studio A )

Friday 4:30 – 6:00 pm ( Studio A )

Friday 6:00 – 7:30 rehearsal time

Saturday 10:30 – 12:00 ( Studio A )

Girls:

Dark red tulle skirt. Can be purchased from BISD
Dark red  Strap leotard. Can be purchased from BISD

Pink tights
Pink canvas ballet slippers

Boys:
White short–sleeved leotard
Black bike shorts or High Waist Dance Legging
White ankle socks – students may wear any plain thin white socks
White ballet slippers

1 quarter: 9 weeks session

Full Program 11 hours a week ( Contemporary and Irina’s Farfalla stretching class included! Rehearsal time not included ) –   $840 per 9 weeks quarter ( $93.5 per week, includes the discount for registered students). 

Single class / Placement class – $ 25
